It is also the fifth largest city in Germany, with a population of 7 million. Frankfurt is the financial and transport center of Germany and the largest financial center in Europe. I came here with the university one day excursion to the stock exchange and the European Central Bank.
It was quite impressive that the stock exchange center was so much smaller than what I expected. I was expecting to be a crazily busy environment, but it appears to be much calmer because 97% or stocks are now run by computers. And only less than 5% within the remaining 3% requires manual instructions.
